Connecting your LinkedIn account is the one setup step Conextly can't do for you. This page explains how it works and, just as importantly, what it doesn't do.
How to connect
Open Settings, choose Connect LinkedIn, and sign in to the LinkedIn account you want to prospect from. The account you connect is the account Conextly acts as — searches run as you, and approved messages come from you. Connect the account whose network and reputation you want to build.
You can connect a free, Premium, or Sales Navigator account. Conextly doesn't require the paid tiers; it gives you Sales-Navigator-style search and outreach on whatever plan you already have.
What the connection does
Once connected, Conextly can, on your behalf and at your direction:
- Run searches and read the profiles you're prospecting.
- Keep your saved prospects in sync so your pipeline reflects reality.
- Draft messages from profile information.
- Send the connection requests and messages you have approved, on a natural schedule.
Every one of these is something you can already do by hand when you're signed in to LinkedIn. Conextly does them the same way — as you, from your session — just without the busywork.
What the connection does not do
- It doesn't send anything you haven't approved. Drafts wait in a pending state until you approve them. There is no "auto-send" mode.
- It doesn't fire actions in bursts. Everything is paced like a person using LinkedIn, with natural gaps between actions and firm daily caps.
- It doesn't touch accounts you don't own. Conextly acts only on the account you connected, using its own authenticated session.
- It doesn't bypass LinkedIn's limits or privacy. You see exactly what you'd see signed in — nothing more.
Why acting as you keeps your account safe
The behavior that gets LinkedIn accounts restricted is machine-like: hundreds of actions in a burst, perfectly even timing, activity at 3 a.m. every night, identical messages to everyone. Conextly is built to look like what it is — you, working through your prospects carefully. Human pace, real personalization, hard caps, and your approval on every send. See Account Safety & Sending Limits for the specifics.
Disconnecting
You can disconnect your LinkedIn account at any time from Settings. Disconnecting stops all activity immediately; your lists, pipeline, and drafts stay in Conextly so you can pick up where you left off when you reconnect.
Troubleshooting
- LinkedIn asks you to verify a sign-in. This is normal the first time. Complete the verification LinkedIn sends and the connection continues.
- You use two-factor authentication. Keep it on. Complete the 2FA prompt when you connect, exactly as you would signing in normally.
- You want to prospect from more than one account. Teams can connect a seat per person. See Teams, Seats & Roles.
