Tracking Prospects

September 4, 2026

Conextly's pipeline keeps every prospect and where they stand in one live view — the stages, how people move through them, and why tracking is what turns scattered outreach into real pipeline.

Tracking Prospects

Finding people is only useful if you remember to follow through with them. Conextly's pipeline is the live view of everyone you're reaching out to and exactly where each person stands — so nothing gets found once and forgotten.

The pipeline at a glance

Every prospect you save sits on a board organized by stage. Instead of a spreadsheet you have to update by hand, the board updates itself as you and your prospects act:

  • Not contacted — saved, no outreach yet. Your on-deck list.
  • Request sent — you've sent a connection request that's still pending.
  • Connected — they accepted; the conversation can begin.
  • Messaged — you've sent a first message and are waiting.
  • Replied — they wrote back. The stage that matters most.
  • Follow-up due — gone quiet and ready for a nudge.

You can see, at any moment, how many people are at each stage — how much is on deck, how much is in flight, and how much has turned into conversations.

How people move through it

Prospects advance automatically as things happen. Send an approved connection request and they move to Request sent; when it's accepted they move to Connected; when your first message goes out they move to Messaged; when they reply, Conextly catches it and moves them to Replied. You're never dragging cards around to keep the board honest — it reflects reality on its own.

Why tracking is the quiet superpower

Most outreach fails not because the message was bad but because there was no system behind it. People send fifteen messages, get busy, and never follow up with the twelve who didn't reply — and eleven of those twelve would have responded to a second touch. A pipeline makes the follow-through visible and unavoidable. The people in Follow-up due are, reliably, your most valuable untapped pipeline.

Reading the board

  • A pile in Not contacted means you have supply — good, as long as you're working through it.
  • A pile in Messaged with few in Replied is a signal to revisit your targeting or your opener, not to send more.
  • A healthy Replied column is the whole point. Everything upstream exists to grow it.

Where tracking connects

Frequently asked questions

How does Conextly track prospects?
Every prospect you save sits on a live pipeline board organized by stage — not contacted, request sent, connected, messaged, replied, and follow-up due. People move through the stages automatically as you send approved requests and messages and as they accept and reply, so the board always reflects reality without manual updating.
Do I have to update the pipeline manually?
No. Prospects advance on their own as things happen: an approved request moves them to Request sent, acceptance to Connected, your first message to Messaged, and their reply to Replied. You never drag cards to keep the board accurate.
Why does tracking matter so much?
Most outreach fails from missed follow-through, not bad messaging — people send a batch, get busy, and never follow up with those who didn't reply, even though many would respond to a second touch. The pipeline makes follow-through visible and unavoidable; the Follow-up due stage is usually your most valuable untapped pipeline.
